Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Grant Administrator to join our team at Georgetown University. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the pre-award grant process, ensuring compliance with sponsor and institutional regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to our faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the review, negotiation, and execution of extramural awards, including program projects and training grants.
  • Serve as the liaison and interact directly with external sponsors, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Set up and maintain awards in Georgetown's financial system, including modifications and close out.
  • Complete the 'Award Set Up' process in the internal routing system, GU-Pass.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for complex awards within the cluster.
  • Review and execute external proposals, ensuring compliance with federal and sponsor guidelines.
  • Submit external proposals through sponsor systems, such as ASSIST and ProposalCentral.
  • Work with the Proposal Specialist to create eRA Commons accounts.
  • Receive and review subaward requests, ensuring compliance with the award.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in a university or other non-profit grants management role.
  • Knowledge of NIH funding mechanisms, including R01, P01, P30, T32, and foundation proposals.
  • Flexible and adaptable to accommodate ongoing changes to internal and external policies.
  • Demonstrated financial accounting skills to enable financial and programmatic report production.
  • Proven experience with financial systems, accounting, and cost accounting standards as they pertain to grants and contracts management.
  • Skill in fostering a collaborative, customer-oriented working environment.
  • Professional communication style, with an ability to work with external sponsors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Research Administration (CRA), Certified PreAward Research Administration (CPRA), and/or Certified Financial Research Administration (CFRA).
  • Familiarity with Workday.
  • Master's Degree.
Work Environment

This position has been designated as Telework. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.

Compensation

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position is: $54,000 - $100,000. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
