Position Overview
The Credit Risk Analysis Specialist plays a pivotal role in collaboration with the Chief Credit Officer (CCO) by gathering, assessing, and entering critical data elements that are essential for the Bank's projections of anticipated credit losses and its concentration management strategy. This role includes conducting stress tests and generating various trend and portfolio segment reports to fulfill both internal and external reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the CCO to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Bank's CECL model components and necessary data inputs.
- Leverage the Bank's modeling and reporting systems to identify and document risk characteristics of the loan portfolio at the segment level, including risk ratings, asset classifications, collateral types, sizes, geographical distributions, industries, and loan vintages.
- Examine and interpret loan portfolio data to provide valuable insights to the CCO and management, supporting reporting and policy formulation.
- Create monthly credit dashboard reports to deliver consistent and timely information to the CCO, aiding in the Bank's CECL, Concentration, and Special Assets reporting obligations.
- Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of the loan portfolio for the CCO to ensure timely financial statement and Call Report submissions.
- Enforce the Bank's appraisal policy regarding minimum collateral valuation standards when necessary, particularly in the assessment of individually analyzed loans and the Bank's commercial real estate concentration strategy.
- Effectively carry out standard reporting tasks, ensuring precision and efficiency while minimizing errors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a financial or commercial lending environment, showcasing proficiency in data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation for informed decision-making.
- Basic knowledge of CECL is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities, adept at prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines.
- Solid mathematical skills, capable of collecting, measuring, and statistically analyzing data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
