About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Recovery Specialist to join our team at Lafayette Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our Default Prevention and Recovery department, you will play a critical role in monitoring loans that are in default and managing the process of loan extensions, loan modifications, and foreclosures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the process for disposing of assets owned by the credit union, including rehabilitations, management, and resale of vehicles, boats, and RVs.
  • Assign accounts to foreclosure attorneys and repossession companies, and notify corresponding departments and document once assets have been secured and/or foreclosure has been completed.
  • Process mortgage reinstatements and vehicle redemptions according to federal and state guidelines, and assist in activities related to loss mitigation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, and professional manner, ensuring all written and verbal member correspondence and related information are documented and/or scanned accurately and timely into the Collections system.
Requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience with consumer and mortgage asset recovery.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and friendly service to external members and internally amongst staff.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and time management are essential characteristics for success in this role.
