About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team at Raytheon in Tucson, AZ. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our classified network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot voice and data networks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate the installation and reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication networks.
  • Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing.
  • Work with network management software platforms to monitor and analyze network performance.
  • Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements are met, configuring solutions to optimize cost savings and align with future requirements.
  • Prepare or ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation.
  • Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for network equipment or with vendors for third-party support.
  • Work outside normal business hours as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in network engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Security+ and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) highly desired.
  • Experience with Cisco ISE, SolarWinds, and setting up client-server environments for government networks.
  • Experience with current cabling and fiber standards.
  • Experience with access control list, security posture, and vendor best practices.
  • Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities.
  • 1-2 years of experience with network management software.
  • Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed.
  • Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices.
  • Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications.
  • Experience with platforms such as IP telephony, NTP servers, GemOne, and SolarWinds.
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
  • Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and network refreshes.
  • Current DoD Top Secret level security clearance.
