Strategic Human Resources Director for Transformational Change

As we celebrate our centennial and embark on a journey of transformational change, Atlanta Legal Aid Society seeks a seasoned Strategic Human Resources Director to support our senior leadership team.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in human resources management, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, employee relations, and benefits. They will develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures to drive organizational excellence and promote positive change throughout our five-county service area.

We offer a competitive salary of $105,000, commensurate with experience, plus generous fringe benefits, including 18 paid holidays, 6 weeks paid time off, 6 weeks parental leave, health, life, and long-term disability insurance, partial payment for dependent health insurance, and educational loan reimbursement up to $600 per month.

The selected candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least seven years of experience in human resources management or a related field. Strong interpersonal skills, solid conflict resolution skills, discretion with confidential information, and an appreciation for diversity are essential. Prior experience working in a legal services organization or non-profit is highly valued.

The Strategic Human Resources Director will work closely with the Executive Director and Deputy Director to advance the needs of staff and program, supporting management by providing guidance, training, and coaching in employment matters. Periodic visits to all Legal Aid offices, units, programs, and projects are required, with reimbursement for mileage.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to adapt to our culture while promoting positive change, demonstrate strong leadership skills, knowledge of employment-related laws, regulations, and best practices, and possess good written and oral communication skills. Proficient computer skills and the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks are also essential.
