The Laboratory Operations Manager is accountable for the strategic direction, coordination, and management of all laboratory divisions, which encompass specimen collection, hematology, coagulation, Blood Bank, chemistry, and additional laboratory areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee test reporting, ensuring compliance with quality control and quality assurance standards.
2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance laboratory operations.
3. Manage staffing, including recruitment, training, and supervision of technical and phlebotomy personnel.
4. Maintain effective relationships with administrative staff, medical personnel, and vendors.
5. Ensure laboratory services adhere to best practices, emphasizing quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
6. Maintain readiness for CAP and State inspections at all times.
7. Collaborate with the Laboratory Administrative Director and Medical Director for operational oversight across multiple locations.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with Board certification recognized by the State.
Experience: Minimum of three years in laboratory leadership within an acute care environment, with proven experience in regulatory compliance, project management, and laboratory accreditation.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and Cerner LIS; prior training in Cerner Millennium is advantageous.
Licensure/Certification: State of Nevada General Supervisor certification is required. Experience in managed care and utilization is preferred.
