Job Overview of the Environmental Safety Compliance Specialist:

The Environmental Safety Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in the establishment, execution, and upkeep of safety initiatives and ISO compliance protocols within the organization.

This position is dedicated to ensuring adherence to safety measures, minimizing risks, and maintaining ISO compliance standards.

The specialist collaborates with multiple departments to foster a culture of safety and ongoing enhancement.

Key Responsibilities of the Environmental Safety Compliance Specialist:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Proven experience in safety management and ISO compliance.

- Familiarity with environmental and quality assurance practices.

- Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal safety regulations and ISO standards.

- Preferred certifications in safety management (e.g., CSP, ASP) and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor).

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and inspire employees.

- Proficient in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

General Requirements:

- Assist in the formulation and execution of thorough safety programs and policies aligned with regulatory requirements.

- Conduct routine safety audits and inspections to pinpoint potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.

- Investigate and document workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, contributing to the development of corrective action plans.

- Deliver safety training and education to staff, ensuring awareness and compliance with safety protocols.

- Maintain and update safety records and documentation.

- Design and implement engaging safety training programs, workshops, and seminars for employees.

- Collaborate with department leaders to identify specific safety training needs and tailor programs accordingly.

- Assess the effectiveness of safety training initiatives and recommend enhancements as necessary.

- Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to discussions on safety enhancements and initiatives.

- Aid in the development and execution of emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.

- Support the development, execution, and maintenance of ISO compliance programs, ensuring the organization meets ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001).

- Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with ISO standards and identify areas for improvement.

- Assist in liaising with external auditors and certification bodies during ISO certification and surveillance audits.

- Stay informed about ISO standards and regulations, communicating changes to relevant stakeholders.

- Prepare and maintain documentation required for ISO compliance, including policies, procedures, and records.
