The H&K Group is seeking a highly skilled 1st Shift Plant Operator to join our team at the Birdsboro Quarry. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of plant equipment, maintaining a safe working environment, and contributing to the overall success of our quarry operations.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain plant equipment, including crushers and screens, to ensure optimal production levels and minimize downtime.
- Perform daily greasing and oil checks on equipment to prevent mechanical failures and ensure smooth operation.
- Inspect and maintain plant walkways to ensure a safe working environment and report any issues to the superintendent.
- Conduct daily guarding inspections and plant checks to identify and address any maintenance issues.
- Inspect screen media to ensure proper condition for maximum production and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized operating booth, free from any inappropriate materials.
- Collaborate with the production team to meet production schedules and suggest improvements to increase efficiency.
- Assist workers in solving production problems and provide guidance on best practices.
- Fulfill daily paperwork requirements and complete other tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) or one month of related experience and/or training.
- Basic mechanical abilities and verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and organized, with a focus on safety and quality.
- Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including movement, lifting, and other relevant tasks.
- 3+ months of related experience and/or training.
- Experience with equipment maintenance and loader operations.
- Experience with Q329 caterpillar trackhoe and LT105 portable crusher.
- MSHA or other relevant safety certifications.
