Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Tax Manager to join our team at Andersen. As a key member of our tax team, you will be responsible for managing R&D Tax Credit and Section 174 engagements, providing technical guidance and training to team members, and participating in business development activities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day responsibilities on R&D Tax Credit and Sec. 174 engagements, including leading technical interviews with subject matter experts, reviewing calculations, and reviewing deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
- Participate in business development activities, including preparing proposals for both prospective and current clients.
- Communicate with clients, manage multiple project deadlines, and remain current on legislative changes.
- 4+ years of experience managing R&D Tax Credit and Section 174 analyses.
- Bachelor's and/or relevant advanced degree (MAcc, MST, JD).
- Accounting, Engineering, or related degree (Preferred).
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Advanced credential allowing for IRS client representation (i.e. CPA, JD).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Working knowledge of accounting methods, including UNICAP is a plus.
We offer competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in New York City, the expected salary range for this role is $115,000 to $197,100; the actual salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications.
We also offer a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, as well as the opportunity to enroll in our firm's 401(k) plan upon hire. We provide paid time off, beginning at 160 hours annually and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
