About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our National Tax Office team at Alvarez & Marsal Tax, LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering top-tier tax planning advice to our clients, exceeding their expectations and staying ahead of the curve on the latest tax-related developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver tax planning advice to clients, including researching and reviewing tax opinions, working with colleagues to obtain private letter rulings, and structuring complex transactions.
  • Help our team stay ahead of the curve by keeping abreast of the latest tax-related developments, legislative changes, and regulatory updates.
  • Foster the growth and development of our Tax practice team, sharing your knowledge through technical memos, opinions, and engaging oral presentations.
  • Provide tax consulting services to a full range of clients across the broader Tax practice, working with colleagues to deliver comprehensive tax advice.
  • Contribute to or lead market and business development activities, collaborating with colleagues to identify and pursue new client service opportunities.
Requirements
  • Must hold an active CPA license (MST or M.Acc. preferred) or be admitted to a bar (LL.M. in Taxation preferred).
  • 3-6 years of progressive transactional tax consulting experience at a law or CPA firm, Department of the Treasury, or IRS Chief Counsel.
  • Strong writing, analytical, research, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, project management, and business development skills.
  • Sense of personal motivation and responsibility, with the ability to work constructively as a team member.

We offer a competitive salary range of $150k - $200k annually, dependent on several variables including education, experience, skills, and geography.
