We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our design and development team in San Diego. As a key member of our Instruments Group, you will be responsible for driving the development of our benchtop and automated optical profiler, resistivity, and thin-film thickness measurement systems.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and develop system and sub-system level requirements and specifications.
- Lead resource allocations, schedules, and budgets to achieve product and project work.
- Develop and implement design plans to support the personal and professional growth of team members.
- Drive prototype integration of assemblies, subsystems, and systems.
- Guide configuration management of Bill of Materials (BOMs) to meet prototype and production requirements.
- Work with supply chain and critical suppliers to support procurement and address technical and schedule questions or issues.
- Develop documentation to enable the transition of new products from engineering to manufacturing.
- Education in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant education.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a lead, supervisor or project lead role at a manufacturing company.
- Understanding and consistent record in the practice of engineering principles and fundamentals, including design, material selection, fabrication, and integration and testing.
- Successful track record of leading engineering teams and/or product development projects.
- Strong oral and written communication skills including proficiency in technical writing and manufacturing documentation.
- Able to connect with peers, interdisciplinary engineering groups, customers, and suppliers.
- Dedicated individual with keen technical ability, detailed approach, and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience with manufacturing control systems (ERP, PLM, etc.).
- Semiconductor equipment and cleanroom experience a plus.
- Knowledge of SEMI, CE, RoHS, and other product compliance requirements a plus.
