About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced MEP Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team at 120 Degreez. As the MEP Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the mechanical engineering aspects of projects in the MEP field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical engineering team, providing guidance and direction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and review project plans, specifications, and design documents for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems into the overall project design.
  • Design and analyze HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork design, and energy efficiency considerations.
  • Design and coordinate plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems.
  • Perform calculations and simulations to evaluate system performance, energy efficiency, and thermal comfort.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing mechanical systems, identify issues, and propose effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project requirements, goals, and budgets.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and drawings for construction documentation.
  • Provide support during the construction phase, responding to requests for information (RFIs) and conducting site inspections.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly desirable.
  • 5+ years of extensive experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in the design and coordination of MEP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, as well as proficiency in CA building codes.
  • Proficiency in using industry software and tools for design and analysis (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC load calculation software).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
