Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Unity Healthcare, LLC. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for preparing the procedure room, assembling and checking equipment, and assisting with surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares the procedure room by selecting and opening sterile instruments.
  • Assembles, adjusts, and checks non-sterile equipment.
  • Utilizes sterilizers, lights, suction machines, electrosurgical units, and diagnostic equipment during procedures.
  • Assists with sponge, needle, and other supply counts to track materials used.
  • Utilizes electronic health records to assist with charting, orders, scheduling, and other tasks.
  • Rooms patients, takes vitals, and prepares the room for the physician.
  • Schedules surgeries, completes prior authorizations, and communicates with patients regarding their surgery plan.

Requirements & Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
  • Certification(s): CST preferred; BLS preferred.
  • Team mentality: willingness to cross-cover for CMA staff when needed and assume duties within the purview of a CST from those in the CMA job description.
