About the Role:
Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Medical Optometrist to join our team in a larger rural community hospital. As an Optometrist in this role, you will work alongside an established ophthalmologist and six skilled certified ophthalmic assistants in a hospital-owned practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive optometry services to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of various conditions of the visual system.
- Collaborate with the ophthalmologist and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in optometry and incorporate evidence-based practices into your work.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a fully accredited college of optometry program (OD).
- 1-3 years of clinic experience preferred.
- Licensed by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO).
- Licensed in the State of Vermont.
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
- Basic Microsoft desktop application and navigation skills.
