Optometrist Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced optometrist to join our team at Rutland Regional Medical Center. As a medical optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optometry, with a graduate degree from a fully accredited college of optometry program (OD). A minimum of 1-3 years of clinic experience is preferred, and licensure by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) and the State of Vermont is required. Additionally, Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association is necessary.
The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with patients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Proficiency in basic Microsoft desktop applications and navigation skills is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive eye care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of various conditions of the visual system.
- Work collaboratively with a team of skilled certified ophthalmic assistants and an established ophthalmologist to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
