Position Overview:
Naval Systems is seeking a skilled Aerospace Engineer to join our team, focusing on the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) Adversary Fleet Support Team. This role will primarily involve working with F-5N aircraft and their associated engines (J-85).
The Aerospace Engineer will be tasked with formulating comprehensive solutions for technical, operational, and maintenance challenges. Responsibilities include assisting maintenance teams in diagnosing and repairing aircraft control systems, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, and pressurization systems. This position may also encompass the repair and troubleshooting of aircraft engines.
In this role, the engineer will be expected to review existing technical maintenance manuals for precision and submit necessary revisions to rectify any publication inaccuracies. Effective communication with management and team members is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all repairs comply with established naval aviation maintenance standards.
- Conduct engineering investigations into failed aircraft components and systems.
- Provide assessments for outdated aircraft system components.
- Evaluate the criticality of aircraft system components through failure mode effects and criticality analysis.
- Review technical drawings and blueprints, estimating materials and time required for repairs.
- Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, develop, implement, test, and assess projects within the mechanical engineering field.
This position will require minimal supervision and guidance from a Senior Aerospace Engineer. Occasional travel may be necessary. The role will be hybrid, combining remote work with on-site responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Location: Remote and On-Site
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering is mandatory.
Experience: A minimum of 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in aerospace projects/platforms is required.
Security Clearance: A Secret Clearance is mandatory. Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
