Nutrition Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Nutrition Specialist to join our team at the Mansfield Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation. As a Nutrition Specialist, you will play a vital role in evaluating the nutritional status of our residents and implementing personalized nutrition care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for residents
- Develop and ensure the implementation of individualized nutrition care plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure nutritional adequacy and compliance to federal, state and local regulations
- Assist food service director in managing costs, overseeing food preparation and service, and developing department staffing plans
- Educate residents, families, and staff on nutritional requirements and healthy eating habits
- Monitor and evaluate residents' nutritional status and make necessary adjustments to care plans

Requirements:
- Valid state license or license eligibility
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Dietetics, Nutrition or related field
- Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Previous experience in long-term care setting preferred
- Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Interest in the nutrition and health care needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
