Job Overview

Chartwells K12 is seeking a part-time School Nutrition Specialist to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition and sustainability initiatives in the South Windsor School District, CT.

This role will work approximately 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and will be responsible for leading menu planning, recipe and ingredient management, and collaborating with chefs on strategic purchasing initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be a credentialed Registered Dietitian with excellent communication, multi-tasking, and teamwork skills, and experience working in a foodservice environment, preferably in K12 school nutrition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement nutrition education programs for students
  • Collaborate with chefs to review ingredients, recipes, and menus for nutritional value
  • Lead food allergy and medical condition program compliance
  • Conduct internal audits and monitor district compliance with USDA requirements

Requirements:

  • Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking, and teamwork skills
  • Possess the vital skills to optimally use Microsoft office applications and nutrient analysis programs
