- Assess uninsured patients to determine eligibility for various medical or disability assistance programs.
- Complete necessary applications and ensure follow-up until approval is secured.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in both company and hospital systems for all cases handled.
- Deliver outstanding customer service consistently.
- Engage in continuous training to enhance skills and knowledge in patient interactions and case management.
- Manage a designated workload of patient accounts efficiently.
- Collaborate with hospital personnel, including case managers, social workers, and financial advisors.
- Handle incoming calls, make outbound communications, and manage paperwork for Medicaid enrollment and renewals.
- Ensure regular and structured communication with applicants and relevant government agencies.
- Assist applicants in gathering necessary documentation and arranging transportation when needed.
- Inform clients promptly about the outcomes of their coverage applications.
- Stay updated on changing regulations and requirements related to government programs through ongoing training.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, unless otherwise required.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt to evolving processes and systems.
- Professional background in state and federal assistance programs is beneficial.
- Strong critical thinking capabilities.
- Physical ability to navigate hospital environments for extended periods.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
