The Healthcare Service Coordinator plays a crucial role in the seamless functioning of our clinics at Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance, PA. This position requires a versatile individual who can support various clerical departments while possessing a comprehensive understanding of clinical operations and our practice as a whole.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Access Specialist: Engage with patients during check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. Responsibilities include creating patient charts, entering demographic information, verifying insurance details, collecting co-pays, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Surgical Coordination: Manage the scheduling of surgeries by obtaining necessary authorizations, coordinating with hospitals or surgical centers, and preparing surgery packets for patients. This role also involves scheduling any required therapy and specialists.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Utilize your patience and problem-solving skills to assist patients in connecting with the appropriate care. This includes answering phone calls, scheduling appointments based on physician availability, and managing referrals from external providers.
  • Insurance Verification: Conduct thorough verification of patient insurance for office visits, liaising with insurance companies to gather benefits information, and ensuring accurate documentation of any discrepancies.
  • Revenue Cycle Management: Participate in revenue cycle tasks, including processing daily deposits and reconciling accounts.
  • General Support: Be prepared to assist in various areas as clinic needs evolve, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of experience in medical office administration is preferred, with orthopaedic office experience being advantageous.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a strong patient-centered approach are essential.
  • Knowledge of health insurance policies is critical.
  • Experience with collecting patient payments, including co-pays and deductibles, is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail is required to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing schedules is important.
  • Collaboration with clinical and administrative teams is essential for fostering a high-performing environment.
  • A dependable and punctual work ethic is crucial to ensure timely patient care.
