Position Overview

Physical Agility Test (PAT)

Applicants must successfully complete a Physical Agility Test (PAT) within a specified time frame.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Pay:
Entry Level Officer: $54,000

Lateral Officer Pay: Credit for years of service will be considered for lateral entry applicants.
Shift Differential:
  • Evening Shift: Additional $0.50/hour
  • Morning Shift: Additional $1.00/hour
Education Incentive Pay:
  • Associate's Degree: $1,000 ($250 per quarter)
  • Bachelor's Degree: $2,000 ($500 per quarter)
  • Master's Degree: $3,000 ($750 per quarter)
Additional Compensation:
  • Take Home Vehicle Program
  • Hazardous Duty Pay (where applicable)
  • On-Call for Court Pay

Essential Duties:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to graduate from the Police Academy within 12 months.
  • Valid Driver's License and Georgia POST Peace Officer Certification.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to perceive and communicate effectively.

Environmental Factors:
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions.
