Job Summary:

The City of Marietta, GA is seeking a highly skilled Code Enforcement Inspector to join our Development Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for enforcing city codes and zoning ordinances, ensuring public health, safety, and welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify code violations and ensure compliance with city ordinances.
Prepare and serve notices to property owners, including demolition orders and citations.
Collaborate with other city departments, such as Fire and Building, to ensure effective code enforcement.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, notices, and enforcement actions.
Provide excellent customer service to property owners, tenants, and the public.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum of 5 years of related code enforcement experience preferred.
ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certifications required; certification must be maintained throughout employment.
Valid Class C Georgia driver's license and satisfactory driving history required.
Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and property maintenance practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as urban planning or public administration.
Experience with MS Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
