We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commissioning Support Specialist to join our team at Wanzek Construction. As a Commissioning Support Specialist, you will assist in the planning, installation, testing, and repair of construction-related systems and components.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the planning and layout of construction projects, including the installation and testing of various systems and components.
- Use hand and power tools to fit and install materials and components, and assist in the repair of damaged or worn components.
- Measure, cut, and bend materials with varying degrees of supervision.
- Assist in the loading, transporting, and unloading of materials and equipment, and ensure that all necessary tools and supplies are available.
- Participate in safety-related processes and programs, and engage with the work team to ensure a safe working environment.
- Report any accidents or near-misses to supervision, and participate in the investigation process as needed.
- Assist in the coordination of work with other crafts and co-workers on the job site.
- Actively participate in on-the-job training and mentoring opportunities with co-workers in your craft.
- Produce quality work that meets the requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Experience working in one or more construction craft roles as a helper or laborer, or a combination of work experience and training.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proficient in one or more craft areas.
- Ability to compute basic numbers, read scales, and use simple fractions.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines.
- Developing knowledge in the fabrication, installation, or maintenance of construction components and systems, and familiarity with applicable state and federal codes.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with varying degrees of supervision. The successful candidate will be able to work well under pressure, and meet deadlines in a timely manner. The position also requires the ability to work at heights, in trenches, or excavations, and to lift, position, and secure materials and work pieces during installation.
Education and Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working in construction, or a related field, is preferred.
