Position Overview
An Inspector General Financial Auditor for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is responsible for conducting and supervising performance and financial audits aimed at enhancing the operational effectiveness and efficiency of NRO activities.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen (dual citizenship accepted)
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Willingness to relocate to the Washington, DC area
- Capability to pass security and medical evaluations

Key Responsibilities
As an Inspector General Financial Auditor assigned to the NRO, your duties will encompass:
- Crafting and documenting audit guidelines
- Formulating and presenting audit findings in alignment with established government auditing standards
- Developing conclusions and recommendations to bolster the efficiency of NRO operations.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing audits
- Evaluating risks
- Testing internal controls
- Gathering and analyzing data
- Reviewing documents
- Managing resources
- Identifying and addressing issues.

Analytical Skills
Utilizing your expertise in accounting and management principles, you will assess programs and activities, providing well-informed recommendations for action.

Communication
This role necessitates interaction with senior officials from the NRO and contractors, making effective communication essential.

Audit Types
You will conduct various audits, including performance, attestation, and financial audits, as well as special reviews of NRO programs and activities.

Oversight Responsibilities
Additionally, you will oversee an Independent Public Accountant (IPA) and assist with other functions of the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) as needed. Some travel may be required.
