Position Overview

Role Summary:

The Lead Early Childhood Educator is accountable for the effective management of the classroom, ensuring tailored educational experiences for each child, fostering a secure learning environment, and employing suitable behavior management techniques. This role involves overseeing a group of up to 20 children aged 3 to 5 years.


Key Responsibilities:

Primary Duties:

  1. Oversee daily classroom setup, develop and execute curriculum plans that cater to individual children's needs, track developmental progress, and ensure precise data collection. (20%)
  2. Create a nurturing classroom atmosphere by building strong relationships, setting age-appropriate expectations, and facilitating child-led activities. (20%)
  3. Exemplify and promote healthy practices, safety measures, and effective behavior management strategies. (15%)
  4. Maintain an organized classroom inventory and ensure regular cleaning and sanitization of the classroom and outdoor play areas. (15%)
  5. Participate in mandatory training sessions and apply learned practices, procedures, and standards. (15%)

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Assist parents and guardians in their vital role as their child's primary educator by fostering an engaging relationship. Conduct a minimum of two parent-teacher meetings and home visits annually. Ensure that screenings, assessments, and evaluations are performed and discussed with parents. (5%)
  2. Collaborate with family advocates to organize parent meetings, providing updates on classroom activities and training sessions. (5%)
  3. Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. (5%)

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Associate's Degree is mandatory.
  2. Experience in early childhood education is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  2. Familiarity with Google Suite, Zoom, and general computer skills.
  3. Experience in early childhood education.
