Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher for our Childcare Program at Peace Lutheran Church. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and safe environment for children to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Teacher, you will:

  • Assist in implementing our curriculum, working closely with the lead teacher and director to ensure a high-quality educational experience for our children.
  • Provide individualized attention and support to children, helping them to reach their full potential.
  • Communicate effectively with families, keeping them informed about their child's daily progress and needs.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional growth activities to stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social-emotional learning and character development.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong commitment to providing high-quality care and education to young children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Experience working with young children in an educational setting, preferably in a childcare or preschool environment.
  • First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Meet state education criteria to work as a lead teacher in Wisconsin (per DCF 251: Group Child Care Centers).
Preferred Qualifications

We welcome applicants with:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • State Licensed Teacher Certification.
  • Registry Level of 6 or Higher.

Please note that this is a full-time position, working Monday-Friday, Center Hours are 6:30 am - 5:30 pm, scheduled hours will vary.
