Job Summary

This position provides administrative support to the Director of the Pardee School Center of Latin America. The successful candidate will manage, advertise, and schedule a broad range of center events, workshops, symposia, conferences, etc. They will oversee the center's operational budget and prepare and maintain various reports, correspondences, including filing financial reports. They will maintain the Center's website and coordinate the use of social media, as well as hire and supervise student workers and contractors as required or needed. Management of the Graduate Certificate in Latin Studies; increasing our programs for visiting scholars/visiting researchers. Interact with students, student organizations, faculty, staff, and other parties as a source of information. They will also manage the Director's calendar and prioritize tasks and other duties for the Director.

Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree a plus.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of progressively responsible management experience, preferably in university administration.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in university administration, personnel management, and HR.
  • Experience in strategic planning, program and project development, and building partnerships and networks.
  • Familiarity with African Studies a plus.
  • Strong financial and budget planning background. Fundraising or donor canvassing a plus.
  • Experience with sourcing and/or managing grants.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the University and external organizations.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects, balance conflicting priorities, and handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Windows or Macintosh and MS Office experience required.
