Nuclear Safety Analyst Opportunity

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking a qualified Nuclear Safety Analyst to join our nationwide team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review processes, systems, and activities in nuclear/non-nuclear facilities to identify hazards and ensure safety equipment is designed to protect the public and workers.
  • Perform hazard identification, hazard screening, hazard analysis, and accident analysis of nuclear facilities and activities.
  • Develop and document safety functions, performance requirements, and performance criteria for engineered and administrative controls.
  • Meet with internal and external customers to discuss safety requirements and developments.
  • Evaluate the interrelationship of system safety requirements and other aspects of concept design and developments.
  • Prepare safety basis documents, including Conceptual Safety Design Reports, Preliminary Safety Design Reports, and Documented Safety Analyses.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, physical sciences, nuclear engineering technology, or a related field.
  • 2-10+ years of experience in nuclear safety analysis.
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of safety basis documentation for DOE nuclear facilities.
  • At least two years of experience working at a DOE nuclear facility or NRC-regulated reactor.
  • Familiarity with 10 CFR 830 Subparts A and B and the USQ process.
Special Requirements:
  • HSPD-12 PIV badge: Ability to obtain and maintain an HSPD-12 PIV badge.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
