About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Prisma Health. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases using radionuclides.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of technical procedures, including imaging and non-imaging studies, under the direction of a nuclear medicine physician or cardiologist.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and prepare patients for procedures, ensuring accurate dosing and proper handling of radioactive materials.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including gamma cameras and dose calibrators, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care, including communicating effectively with patients and families.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including patient dose tickets and logbooks, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Provide education and training to students and new hires, as well as mentorship and guidance to ensure successful onboarding and integration into the team.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine technology program.
- 1-year nuclear medicine experience, with clinical experience considered towards the 1-year requirement.
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB registry, with CPR certification and SCSQRSA license.
- Excellent customer service skills, with ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Basic computer skills, with proficiency in database management and data entry.
- Strong background in physics and chemistry, with knowledge of radiation safety equipment and procedures.
