Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated individual to enhance our Cafe team as a Host/Cashier. This role is essential in delivering exceptional food and service experiences to our valued guests.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Warmly greet guests promptly upon arrival, using their names for returning visitors.
  • Assist newcomers with kiosk navigation for ordering.
  • Provide detailed menu and nutritional guidance for guests with specific dietary needs.
  • Relay dietary requests to kitchen staff during order placement.
  • Ensure accuracy by comparing completed orders with guest tickets.
  • Address any order discrepancies with guests, making necessary adjustments with supervisor consent.
  • Efficiently organize multiple orders to guarantee timely food delivery.
  • Process orders in person, via phone, or online, handling payments and providing change accurately.
  • Manage refunds or voids with appropriate management approval.
  • Conduct cash drawer counts and balance receipts at the end of each shift.
  • Prepare and maintain beverage stations for service.
  • Keep condiments and service items well-stocked.
  • Ensure cleanliness in dining areas, order stations, and beverage zones.
  • Notify supervisors of any shortages or damaged items for timely resolution.
Qualifications:
  • Valid food handler's permit.
  • Exhibit a positive and professional demeanor, even in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English, particularly regarding menu items and nutritional information.
  • Fluency in English to effectively communicate menu details to guests.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 30 lbs overhead.
  • Willingness to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Observe dining room flow to efficiently guide guests to their tables.
  • Engage with guests in a friendly and hospitable manner.
  • Handle guest concerns diplomatically, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while also taking direction when needed.
  • Outgoing personality with a congenial approach.
  • A high school diploma is preferred, along with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
