Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Care Supervisor at Kaiser Permanente, you will oversee a team of local staff in delivering high-quality, patient-focused, and cost-effective pulmonary clinical services. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and work collaboratively with the Site Pulmonary Clinical Services Manager and other healthcare providers to develop, implement, and provide efficient patient/pulmonary care services and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring pulmonary standards to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Coordinate Plans of Treatment and customer-focused delivery of services to meet the needs of patients.
  • Ensure all patient care is in compliance with administrative, legal, and regulatory requirements, and follows established policies and procedures.
  • Work with the Site Pulmonary Clinical Services Manager and other healthcare providers to develop, implement, and provide efficient patient/pulmonary care services and outcomes.
  • Identify and recommend best practice models to improve quality and service to members.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating standards of practice to improve quality and service to members.
  • Assist in meeting short and long-term financial goals by continually planning, developing, monitoring, adjusting, and evaluating annual budgets.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality of services.
  • Supervise staff to ensure all are fully competent in providing the highest quality of care to members.
  • Assist in determining appropriate staffing to maintain service levels.
  • Assist in developing programs and presenting in-service programs to pulmonary staff.
  • Supervise daily unit operations, department, and employee safety programs, and risk management.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in respiratory care in a multi-faceted healthcare system, multi-service provider setting, or academic setting.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner License (California) and Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate from National Board of Respiratory Care required.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, staffing, systems, quality improvement, and clinical care delivery in an inpatient setting.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in respiratory care, healthcare administration, nursing, business administration, or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
