Role Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess 4-7 years of relevant experience in the field or a related area. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures is essential. The role requires the ability to rely on limited experience and judgment to achieve objectives, necessitating a degree of creativity and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand business goals and challenges, identify alternative solutions, and conduct studies and cost/benefit analyses.
  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and issues to enhance processing or improve existing systems.
  • Collaborate with organizational units to assess current operational procedures, identify challenges, and determine specific input and output requirements.
  • Draft detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and the steps necessary for developing or modifying computer programs.
  • Evaluate system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling constraints to ascertain the feasibility of requested program changes.

Additional Role Details

This position involves being a key member of the team responsible for all Middleware activities between operations management and applications. The role includes coordinating all release and maintenance schedules for Middleware servers and the applications they host. In the event of operational issues, the candidate will assess problems, communicate with management, and lead the resolution efforts. From an architectural perspective, the candidate will provide guidance on technical implementations, scheduling, automation, and task distribution within the Middleware Team. Responsibilities also include supporting core applications both on-premise and those migrated to cloud services.

Candidate Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in installing, deploying, configuring, and administering WebSphere ND clusters/cells on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including upgrades and patches.
  • 5 years of experience in tuning large, complex Java-based web applications within a Service-Oriented Architecture.
  • 5 years of experience troubleshooting large, complex Java-based web applications in a Service-Oriented Architecture.
  • 5 years of knowledge and application of DevOps and CI/CD methodologies, with experience automating stages of the DevOps infinity loop model.
  • 4 years of experience creating pipelines in Jenkins for automating WebSphere Application Server configurations.
  • 4 years of experience developing Red Hat Ansible Platform playbooks for automating WebSphere Application Server installations and deployments.
  • 4 years of experience with various scripting methodologies, including UNIX, Jython, YAML, and JSON.
  • 4 years of familiarity with Java and all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • 4 years of experience using Application Performance Management tools such as DynaTrace and Splunk.

Preferred Experience:

  • 3 years of experience with IBM Business Automation Workflow.
  • 2 years of experience with IBM Operational Decision Manager.
  • 1 year of experience with IBM DataPower.
  • 1 year of experience with Adobe Experience Manager.
  • 1 year of experience with AWS solution architecture and management.
