Job Summary

The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing and providing direct patient care to critically ill patients with varying levels of acuity at Oroville Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains competency in professional nursing practices for critically ill patients.
  • Keeps up-to-date with critical care diagnostic and treatment techniques.
  • Able to recognize normal cardiac rhythms and deviations.
  • Operates and monitors complex equipment.
  • Utilizes nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments based on patient's condition.
  • Develops individualized plan of care in collaboration with healthcare team.
  • Performs treatments and interventions as ordered by physician.
  • Provides patient and family education.
  • Documents patient care accurately and timely.
  • Initiates emergency resuscitative measures based on protocols.
  • Maintains patient, family, and staff confidentiality.
  • Manages patient-technology interface effectively.
  • Acts ethically and with sensitivity to patient diversity.
  • Evaluates quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Participates in professional development activities.
  • Contributes to peer professional development and teamwork.
  • Participates in continuing education activities.
  • Performs other assigned duties.
