Job Summary

The Escrow Officer is responsible for facilitating the settlement process for retail transactions. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills to ensure a smooth and efficient transaction process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between all parties involved in the transaction, including homebuyers, mortgage lenders, and accounting teams.
  • Prepare and approve settlement statements, coordinate deeds, and verify the accuracy of loan documents and insurance documentation.
  • Obtain signatures for closing transactions, explain documents as needed, and facilitate questions and answers between parties.
  • Follow Escrow Accounting Business Practice Guidelines, including collection and disbursement of funds, and comply with State and Federal Good Funds statutes.
  • Review escrow quality assurance reports and resolve any outstanding issues to ensure compliance with business policy.
  • Ensure timely and accurate flow of information and documentation from the settlement team to the Recording and Accounting Departments.
  • Correct and resolve any post-closing issues that arise.
  • Ensure adherence to workflow processes.
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience as an Escrow Officer or Assistant Escrow Officer.
  • Licensing requirements as required by State/Federal Agencies.
  • Notary Public license requirements as required by State.
  • Customer service skills with experience engaging with diverse homebuyer demographics.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle fast-paced and demanding work environments.
  • Effective follow-up skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adjust well to change.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across dispersed teams in multiple locations.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Experience with OneNote and SoftPro is a plus.
