Honda North America is seeking a dedicated and proactive professional to become a vital part of our procurement team. This position is essential for executing both tactical and strategic purchasing functions, ensuring that parts are delivered on time and are ready for use in Manufacturing, Engine Assembly, and MRO operations. Key responsibilities include managing costs, sourcing materials, and fostering supplier relationships within the Purchasing Department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers to guarantee timely deliveries for manufacturing, engine assembly, MRO, and facility requirements. Address challenges and make informed decisions to facilitate hardware disposition and expedite processes.
- Oversee supplier RFQs and negotiations to secure contracts based on the best quality, cost, and delivery conditions.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Suppliers to improve processes and achieve timely delivery objectives. Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to implement process changes and manage project-related tasks.
- Provide mentorship to team members to ensure compliance with established procedures.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in procurement or supply chain management.
Minimum Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or logistics, with strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and collaborate effectively within teams.
Other Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional negotiation and analytical skills, along with technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings, particularly in the Aerospace industry.
Working Environment:
- This role primarily operates in a climate-controlled office environment.
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing areas may necessitate the use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
- Minimal travel is expected, accounting for less than 10% of the time.
