Job Description: Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's dynamic team in Richmond. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced corporate environment while gaining valuable experience in accounts payable operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely payments to vendors.
  • Review and verify invoices for completeness and accuracy prior to payment processing.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, resolving discrepancies promptly and effectively communicating with vendors.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records within the accounting system.
  • Assist in month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Provide support for audits and assist in implementing internal controls as needed.
  • Mentor and train junior accounts payable staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5+ years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable principles, processes, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to address invoice discrepancies and process improvements.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
