Position Overview: Mid-Level Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Mid-Level Staff Accountant to play a vital role in our financial operations. This position is perfect for a professional with a solid foundation in accounting principles and practices. The Mid-Level Staff Accountant will oversee various accounting tasks, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger, adhering to tax regulations, and supporting the financial stability of the organization. Additionally, this role will involve significant participation in the preparation and execution of year-end audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Collaborate with various departments to investigate and resolve account discrepancies promptly.
  • Conduct analyses and provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including assisting in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support the monthly financial consolidation of balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other reports.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations for multiple entities.
  • Work alongside auditors and assist in preparing audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
On-Site Work Requirements:

In-office presence is required three days a week (as per ALKU's WFH Policy).

Physical Demands:

Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Education and Experience:

1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Previous experience with state and local tax filings is advantageous.
