Job Summary

Penn Medicine is committed to delivering exceptional patient care, advancing medical research, and educating future healthcare professionals. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Shared Services Orthopedic department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications, perform injections, and collect patient samples under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
  • Conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs) and screening tests to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Obtain and test patient specimens, documenting results and taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Assist providers with surgical procedures, including patient positioning, maintaining a sterile field, and wound cleaning and dressing.
  • Prepare patient visit paperwork and obtain vital signs as needed, reporting abnormal results to providers.
  • Maintain equipment and instrument cleanliness, ensuring proper functioning and storage.
  • Participate in new team member orientation and training.
Requirements
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification.
  • BLS/CPR certification as a healthcare provider, per the American Heart Association.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Practice Nursing School graduation.
  • 1+ year of outpatient experience (preferred).
