Job Summary

Novant Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist II to join our team at Kernersville Medical Center. As a critical care specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and advocating for the needs of our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate, incorporating education into the interdisciplinary care plan to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Critical Care: Prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels, ensuring timely completion of care interventions and medical orders.
  • Respiratory Care: Administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers, and transport patients as needed.
  • Specialized Skills: Evaluate patient needs and provide routine respiratory care, including ABGs, bronchial hygiene therapy, and higher levels of care in critical care areas and emergent situations.
  • Independence and Autonomy: Demonstrate independence in the specialty of Respiratory Care, practicing according to state requirements and standards.
  • Critical Care Specific: Manage ventilators, participate in code blue situations, and interpret and intervene with blood gas analysis, using related protocols for patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required; 2-Year/Associate Degree, required; 4-Year/Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RCP licensure in the appropriate state, required.
