Position Overview:


Novant Health is in search of a Cardiovascular Procedure Specialist (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or CVT) dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients undergoing cardiac and vascular interventions.

This role involves collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to assess, implement, and evaluate patient care in alignment with established policies and procedures.

Job Title:
Cardiovascular Procedure Specialist

Work Schedule:
PRN, with scheduled shifts occurring Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., including potential for late coverage; no weekend or holiday shifts required.

Location:
Kernersville Medical Center

Orientation Requirement - Completion of a one-week orientation process is mandatory.

Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or GED is required.

Graduation from one of the following accredited educational programs is necessary:

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Registered Radiology Technologist (RTR)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
  • Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT-P)
  • Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)
  • Vascular Intervention (VI)

Experience:
RN with a minimum of one (1) year in Critical Care, Emergency Services, Cath/EP Lab, or Special Procedures experience. OR acute care hospital experience as an EMT-P with at least two (2) years of experience is required. RTR, RRT, RCIS, RCES, CVT, or VI with a minimum of one (1) year of experience is preferred.

Licensure:

Registered Nurse (RN) - North Carolina Board of Nursing License; Registered Radiology Technologist (RTR) - ARRT Radiology; OR Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) credentialing/accreditation and/or Paramedic associate degree from an accredited Paramedic program.

Or Technologist Registry OR Respiratory Therapist - licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) AND Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as RRT.

OR Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist, Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, Cardiovascular Technologist, and Vascular Intervention - graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Program.

If the Cardiovascular Procedure Specialist (CIS) is not a RN, RTR with CI or VI certification, he/she must obtain their Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) within 24 months of hire for continued employment.

Additional Skills Required:
Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency assessments. Pass annual Cardiac Dysrhythmias Test.
