Assembler Job Description

At Great Lakes Stainless, we are seeking a skilled Assembler to join our team. As an Assembler, you will play a critical role in the production process, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble fabricated parts at floor stations, adhering to product specifications and tolerances.
  • Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to ensure they meet product specifications.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications.
  • Identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repair as necessary.
  • Work under immediate supervision, relying on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.
  • 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area preferred.

Abilities Required:

  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of material, methods, tools, and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in poor lighting, heating, and ventilation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in extreme hot and cold conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in dirty and noisy areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Demonstrated ability to sketch schematics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in tight places.
  • Demonstrated ability to lift moderately heavy objects.
  • Demonstrated ability to do excessive walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain proper attendance and punctuality standards.
