Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Create and implement IEPs for students with disabilities, ensuring alignment with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide Differentiated Instruction and Support: Offer tailored instruction and support to meet the unique academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues and Families: Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the effective implementation of IEP goals and accommodations in inclusive settings.
  • Use Evidence-Based Practices and Instructional Strategies: Utilize research-backed methods and techniques to facilitate student learning and engagement.
  • Monitor Student Progress and Adjust Instruction: Regularly assess student progress, collect data, and adjust instructional strategies as needed to support student growth and achievement.
  • Conduct Assessments and Evaluate Student Eligibility: Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress, identify areas of need, and determine eligibility for special education services.
  • Maintain Accurate and Confidential Records: Keep accurate and confidential records of student progress, attendance, and behavior.
  • Participate in IEP Meetings and Parent Conferences: Attend IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress and discuss instructional strategies and support services.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or Related Field: Possess a degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Oregon Teaching License with Special Education Endorsement: Hold a valid Oregon teaching license with a Special Education endorsement (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Special Education Laws and Regulations: Possess knowledge of state and federal special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience Working with Students with Disabilities: Preferably have experience working with students with disabilities in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong Communication, Collaboration, and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to Differentiate Instruction and Adapt Teaching Strategies: Possess the ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
