Job Summary:
As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in performing ultrasound examinations to provide diagnostic information to referring physicians. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring high-quality images and accurate diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strong relationships with patients, explaining the ultrasound procedure and addressing their concerns.
  • Select and operate the appropriate ultrasound equipment and probes to obtain diagnostic information.
  • Apply gel, position the probe, and monitor equipment to capture high-quality ultrasound images.
  • Process and review images to ensure they meet radiologist requirements.
  • Prepare initial diagnoses by identifying abnormal conditions for review by radiologists.
  • Assist providers in conducting invasive procedures using ultrasound equipment.
  • Maintain equipment, examination rooms, and inventory of related supplies.
  • Prepare patient information files and submit reports on examination results.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.

Requirements:
  • Minimum one year of full-time experience as a sonographer required.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Completion of an ARDMS accredited or equivalent program in ultrasound technology required.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
