Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Johns Hopkins Medicine. As an Obstetric Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic exams and assist perinatologists in performing invasive procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all ultrasound procedures according to departmental procedures and established protocols.
  • Conduct fetal exams, including 1st trimester ultrasound exams, nuchal translucency measurements, 2nd trimester detailed anatomic surveys, 3rd trimester ultrasound exams, full and limited fetal echocardiography, maternal and fetal Doppler, and biophysical profiles.
  • Assist perinatologists in performing invasive procedures, such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
  • Perform portable examinations requiring movement of ultrasound equipment to various locations.
  • Monitor and observe any abnormal changes in patients' color, respiration, heart rate, and responsiveness, and respond appropriately.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an approved curriculum in diagnostic ultrasound.
  • Registration (or Registry-eligible) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in OB/GYN.
  • Current CPR Certification.
