Key Responsibilities
  • Greet each guest personally within 30 seconds of their arrival.
  • Verify the age of guests to ensure compliance with alcohol purchase regulations.
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage offerings, menus, and promotions.
  • Engage with guests using clear, enthusiastic communication, ensuring they feel valued.
  • Collaborate with team members to foster a positive environment and efficient service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas, adhering to Georgia Blue's standards.
  • Ensure all bar areas, including counters and glassware, are kept clean and well-stocked.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, along with any necessary side tasks during shifts.
  • Promptly process drink orders, handle payments, and provide change as needed.
  • Be proactive in offering assistance to guests before they need to ask.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond to signals indicating they require attention.
  • Foster relationships by learning guests' names, preferences, and favorite beverages.
  • Responsible service of alcohol, recognizing signs of intoxication and managing situations appropriately.
  • Complete the menu test successfully by the end of training; failure to do so may lead to termination.
Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Must be at least 21 years old.

Experience:
  • Prior bartending experience is essential unless promoted from within.
  • Outgoing demeanor, positive attitude, and strong verbal communication skills are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Sound judgment and leadership capabilities are essential.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations and service protocols.
  • Familiarity with beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes is expected.
  • Basic math skills and cash handling experience are required.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is necessary.
Management Responsibilities
  • May assist with inventory management and ordering processes.
  • Participate in training and occasionally assist in the interview process.
  • Help maintain an updated inventory of required supplies.
Independent Judgment

This role represents the company in addressing complaints and resolving issues. As a bartender at Georgia Blue, you will be expected to engage with guests to ensure their satisfaction, employing creativity and initiative to address challenges before escalating to management.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to see at close and far distances.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and audibly.
  • Ability to identify and differentiate colors.
  • Frequent walking and standing are required.
  • Capable of walking for extended periods, potentially up to 8 hours.
  • Regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent use of manual dexterity and motor skills.
  • Able to reach in various directions and perform repetitive bending and stooping.
  • Be aware of potential hazards such as slipping and tripping.
Working Environment
  • Work may occur in indoor or outdoor settings, depending on the venue.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions is expected.
  • May work near moving machinery or mechanical parts.
  • Possible exposure to chemicals and airborne particles.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
Uniform Standards
  • Grey long-sleeve button-down shirt with a black vest, tucked in with a black belt, paired with black non-denim pants/slacks.
  • Server apron, black crew socks, and closed-toed black slip-resistant shoes are required.
  • Any undershirt must be short-sleeved and white.
  • No facial piercings are permitted.
  • Facial hair must be well-groomed.
  • Long hair must be tied back and restrained.
