Key Responsibilities
  • Greet each guest personally within 30 seconds of their arrival.
  • Verify the age of guests to ensure compliance with alcohol purchase regulations.
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage offerings, menus, and promotions.
  • Engage with guests using clear, enthusiastic language and body language to make them feel valued.
  • Collaborate with all staff to maintain a positive environment and efficient service.
  • Ensure all areas are clean and stocked according to Georgia Blue's standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all bar areas, including counters, sinks, utensils, glassware, and storage spaces.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, along with any necessary side tasks during your shift.
  • Ensure all bar glassware is cleaned and replenished throughout the shift.
  • Clear and reset tables in the bar area as needed.
  • Prepare, garnish, and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in line with Georgia Blue's standard recipes.
  • Input drink orders into the system promptly, handle payments, and provide change to guests.
  • Be attentive and offer assistance proactively, anticipating guest needs.
  • Familiarize yourself with guests' names, occupations, and preferred drinks to foster a welcoming environment.
  • Practice responsible alcohol service, recognizing when a guest may be over-served and addressing the situation appropriately.
  • Complete the menu test by the end of training, with two opportunities to pass; failure may lead to termination.
Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Must be at least 21 years old.

Experience:
  • Prior bartending experience is essential unless promoted from within.
  • Outgoing demeanor, positive attitude, and strong verbal communication skills are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Sound judgment and leadership experience are beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of restaurant operations and service protocols.
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes is required.
  • Basic math skills and cash handling experience are essential.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is necessary.
Management Responsibilities
  • May assist with inventory and ordering processes.
  • Participate in training and occasionally assist in interviews.
  • Help maintain and update supply lists as needed.
Independent Judgment

This role involves representing the company in addressing complaints, mediating disputes, and resolving issues. As a bartender at Georgia Blue, you will be expected to engage with guests to ensure their satisfaction, taking initiative and employing creativity to resolve challenges, involving management only when necessary.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to see both close and at a distance.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and audibly.
  • Ability to identify and differentiate colors.
  • Frequent walking and occasional standing required.
  • Ability to walk for extended periods, potentially up to 8 hours.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying of up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying of up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular use of manual dexterity and motor skills.
  • Able to reach in all directions and kneel or stoop as needed.
  • Potential hazards include slipping and tripping.
Working Conditions
  • Work may occur in indoor or outdoor settings.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions is expected.
  • May work near moving or mechanical parts.
  • Possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and airborne particles.
  • Schedule may vary, including evenings, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
Uniform Standards
  • Grey long-sleeve button-down shirt with a black vest, tucked in with a black belt, and black non-denim pants/slacks.
  • Server apron, black crew socks, and closed-toed black slip-resistant shoes are required.
  • Any undershirt must be short-sleeved and white.
  • No facial piercings allowed.
  • Facial hair must be well-groomed.
  • Long hair must be pulled back and restrained.
