Key Responsibilities of the Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant:
Support in the planning, development, organization, implementation, evaluation, and direction of our rehabilitation services and associated programs as directed by the Facility's Physical Therapists.
Contribute to standardizing therapy methods.
Assist in formulating, executing, and coordinating policies and procedures, resident care plans, rehabilitation procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc.
Review rehabilitation policies, procedures, manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually, and participate in suggesting necessary modifications.
Assist in clarifying rehabilitation policies and procedures to staff, residents, family members, etc., as needed.
Engage in discharge planning, development, and execution of resident care plans, resident assessments, etc., as required.
Maintain an up-to-date record of residents who have received treatment.
Keep treatment records, resident files, and progress notes as mandated.
Ensure resident records are secure and properly managed.
Ensure the Business Office receives charges for rehabilitation services provided to residents.
Maintain effective communication with families and residents.
Conduct interviews with residents or family members as necessary.
Fulfill administrative duties such as completing required forms, reports, etc., and submitting them to the Physical Therapist as needed.
Qualifications of the Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant:
Must possess an associate degree from an accredited college or university for Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant.
Must have the ability to interpret rehabilitation policies and procedures.
Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and uphold the appearance of therapy areas.
Must be open to exploring new methods and principles and be willing to integrate them into existing rehabilitation services.
