Critical Facilities Technician Job Description

At Apple, we are seeking a highly skilled Critical Facilities Technician to join our team. As a Critical Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating key infrastructure systems in a variety of locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and operate electrical and mechanical systems in critical environments
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and other infrastructure systems
  • Inspect and lead important equipment on a regular basis, responding to unusual or malfunctioning circumstances
  • Respond rapidly to emergency circumstances that disrupt operations and work with other essential facility workers to make necessary repairs
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical system drawings
  • Follow all federal, state, and local standards for operations and workplace safety, including familiarity with safety procedures and equipment
Requirements:
  • 5 years of similar experience in a critical environment
  • Working knowledge of electrical, and life safety systems typically used in critical environments
  • Ability to undertake physically demanding jobs, such as lifting goods weighing up to 50-75 pounds and capable of scaling ladders of varying heights
  • Use of suitable personal protection equipment (PPE) in varied situations, such as ARC Flash suits and coveralls
  • Strong knowledge of hyper-scale electrical and mechanical systems, as well as NFPA70e and OSHA laws specific to facilities and critical settings
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Electrical graduate of the apprentice program or trade school preferred
  • Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel, Word, and MAC
  • Knowledgeable in energy management systems and in all building system operations, maintenance, and repair
