Medical Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory testing, ensuring the highest quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex laboratory testing, including proficiency testing samples, and complete results within established turnaround time targets.
- Assume responsibility of the department as appropriate in the absence of the supervisor, ensuring seamless operation and continuity of patient care.
- Complete all required records and documentation pertaining to patient results, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets, prioritizing urgent testing and ensuring timely results.
- Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results, including performing delta checks and resolving any outstanding workload or communicating to staff relief.
- Review pending logs (OSR) and result logs, resolving any outstanding workload or communicating to staff relief.
- Perform quality control procedures per protocol, handling all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results.
- A 2 Year/Associate Degree in Medical Technology or a related field is required.
- A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred.
- A State of Florida Technologist License is required or the ability to obtain a license during the interview process.
- Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas, including Generalist, Blood bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology.
