About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist II to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our procurement organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic procurement solutions to support our space exploration mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to meet the needs of our spaceflight systems
  • Procure multiple commodity requirements, including Aerospace and COTS commodities
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal/Requests for Quote, and perform cost analysis in support of proposals
  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead formal negotiations
  • Construct various contracting types for major procurement activities, including long-range procurement agreements and sourcing partnerships
  • Lead the identification, implementation, negotiation, execution, and management of strategic agreements
  • Support the overall procurement organization's strategic direction and ensure corporate strategic objectives are achieved
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience, or Master's degree with 3 years of experience in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related industry experience
  • Interprets and applies company policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards, and U.S. government regulations, including FAR, DFAR, and SOX Compliance
  • Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the supply chain department
  • Experience with purchasing systems, including Costpoint, Exostar, Jules, Jira, and Windchill
  • Maintain compliant and accurate files and data records
  • Strong analytical skills, data-driven, with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics
  • Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working understanding of AS9100 standards
  • Experience in procurement of multiple Aerospace and COTS commodities at varying levels of difficulty
  • Knowledge of Engineering Data, including specifications and source control drawings
  • An eagerness to identify opportunities, find solutions, execute plans, and evaluate results critically and expediently
  • Highly analytical and critical thinker
  • Maintains passion for solving problems from end-to-end
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize workload
  • Track record of working in an ambiguous environment and ability to define processes that can scale
  • Adept at working with different systems and making recommendations on improvements for both systems and processes
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Current active DOD Secret Security Clearance and/or Special Access
